Any Good Torano Cigars???
I'm trying to stock up on boxes so I can justify starting a coolidor (already have two 150 counts humidors) and I always see box after box of Torano cigars selling on the devil site for cheap. I don't know much about them which lines are worth looking into?

I think Toranos taste like dirt (not earthy.....dirt). But someone must like 'em if they keep selling.

Re: Any Good Torano Cigars???
Well, I think I'll try and find something better. Just snagged a box of Perdomo 10th Anny Maduros for a good price so that's a good start.

Exodus '59 Gold is like smoking a dark chocolate bar.
Virtuoso is good, but odd. The flavor profile is dominated by oak. Yeah, oak. Noventa '90, been a long time since I've had one of these, but opus x-ish comes to mind. Can't comment too much on the others, a few I've had, some I haven't, don't really remember all of them at this point. |

The first Torano cigar, a Virtuoso, traumatized me and not tried one since.

Buying boxes based upon other's opinions and to justify buying a cooler is just plain silly.
Buy singles or fivers to try. And then formulate your own opinions. If you continue to buy boxes in this manner you will end up with a lot of sale threads or cigars for the troops. |

Re: Any Good Torano Cigars???
You're going to end up with a pile of boxes in a few months. You're right its your money. But tastes will change and without a doubt a cigar you like today will be sitting in your cooler gathering dust in a year. But no doubt the troop supporters will be very happy.

Re: Any Good Torano Cigars???
I really like the exodus 59 gold. The Signature is good too with nice coffee note. Try a fiver of each they're relatively cheap. And if you Iike to have a cheap cigar for friends who want to try a cigar for the first time the casa torano natural is mild and creamy and won't hurt them like something stronger might.

The Exodus 1959 is a good smoke. The Novento is pretty decent. Signatures smoked pretty well, too. Not much to toot about with he other.

Re: Any Good Torano Cigars???
I think what Bob is trying to say is that you should buy boxes based on what you like, not blindly based on what someone else likes or recommends. If someone likes and recommends a cigar, and it sounds interesting to you, don't buy a box, start with a few singles at your B&M or a 5'er. Blindly committing to a whole box could easily leave you with a lot of cigars that you don't like enough to keep.

Re: Any Good Torano Cigars???
Not at all. I have 75-100 boxes in my coolers and Vinotemps. What I said was buying boxes based upon another smokers tastes or to fill a cooler is not a good idea. You will find countless threads here from people whose tastes have changed over the course of a year or so and have boxes to sell.
If you've only been back in the "game" for six months after taking five years off, there are hundreds of new blends to try. |
