I need to make a order from them. I am going to try the sampler.

Is that a sampler you did or you picked them all?

I picked them. I've done 2 4lb samplers before though and was pleased.

With my palate, I don't know that I can really tell one variety from the other and as far as I'm concerned, I'll save $1+/lb and just keep ordering 8# samplers.

I'm thinking I need to go to the 12 cup french press. I can polish off the 8 cup quite easily and leave the Mrs. with nothing when I head off to the hospital in the morning.

You'd be surprised how much variance you get from region to region. Degree of roast and grind amount has an impact too.

Tasting cherry, plum, almonds, etc, is hard for me, but the difference between different regions is pretty noticable.

When I drink coffee, I know whether I like it or not. I'm not good at detecting what I remember one day from the next from one variety to the next. I'd have to do side by side taste tests to get a much better feel of what's really different from one to another. Just haven't gotten thy far yet.
