Default Moiste-N-Aire question

So I got his moist-n-aire humidifier with my cabinet..it is used and I have never seen one in person before. Question, does the water just get dumped in the metal box? Is there supposed to be a plastic insert inside the box? I could not find any disassembled photos.

Just clean the metal box once a month and you will be fine! I had the unit for over 2 years and I wish I never sold it

I would boil water and rinse, the metal gets hot so becareful never keen on adding soap i figured the boiling water would kill everything.

I should mention only use hot water in the metal box you might need to clean the cork with a paper towel

We use one in the wall humidor at the shop and once a month we take it out and clean it with a mixture of hot water and a cap-full of bleach, and rinse it out thoroughly. Coming up on three years using it with no problems.

Stainless steel isn't stainless....more like stain resistant. It will still rust just takes longer to do so.
