Moiste-N-Aire question

So I got his moist-n-aire humidifier with my cabinet..it is used and I have never seen one in person before. Question, does the water just get dumped in the metal box? Is there supposed to be a plastic insert inside the box? I could not find any disassembled photos.

Just pour the distilled water in the funnel, Metal tank has Half gallon capacity :tu

Although apparently it leaves an interesting "gunk" at the bottom...

Just clean the metal box once a month and you will be fine! I had the unit for over 2 years and I wish I never sold it

It's probably stainless steel.

Suggestions? little soap and water or just a quick rinse out?

I would boil water and rinse, the metal gets hot so becareful :) never keen on adding soap i figured the boiling water would kill everything.

I should mention only use hot water in the metal box you might need to clean the cork with a paper towel

We use one in the wall humidor at the shop and once a month we take it out and clean it with a mixture of hot water and a cap-full of bleach, and rinse it out thoroughly. Coming up on three years using it with no problems.

Stainless steel isn't stainless....more like stain resistant. It will still rust just takes longer to do so.

I get the gunk even when using distilled water, Problem is not cleaning it enough, the best unit I have found so far and I have tried ALL the oasis's.
