Default iPOD Touch FM Transmitter

Can anyone recommend me a good FM transmitter for the iPOD touch? I'd like one that can charge the iPOD at the same time and, it would be great if you have used it personally so that you know for sure it's legit. Their are a ton out there, but I cannot seem to find a good concensus on which is the best model. Thank you.

Well, not in my Mustang. I have just the stock deck. In my Acura I have an aux input, but I want to use it in my Mustang.

ahh ok, i like the aux mp3 cause there is no static. But you wanna use your iPod in your stang, so you gotta go with the FM i guess. The only FM i tried i paid around 40 bucks, and i got a lot of static even on popular stations.

I was going to mention the static. Peripheral makes one that is hardwired into you antennae hookup in the back of your stereo. Cuts down on interference....just have to be a tad tech savvy.

ahh...if you had a tape deck I'd say get one of those adapters..... no interference and very good, cheap alternative.

not sure what is a good fm transmitter as I just use the auxillary input

Argh.

I don't want to have to get a new deck, my deck works just fine.

I just got this for my touch:

http://store.apple.com/us/product/TQ...mco=MjE1NzMzNg

Out of the box it was complete sh!t. But, after doing some googling on why it sucked so much and reading comments on it, I found out how to fix it. There is a way to set it to "international mode" which lets you change the frequency range. The standard US range is 88.1-107.9, but I can tune my car stereo down to the stations in the 87.1-87.9 range. So I popped it into Japanese mode where I can set it on 87.9 and get almost no static. (Technically I'm broadcasting a pirate radio station at this point, but the range is so weak it doesn't matter) The audio quality is still no where near as good as AUX in, but much better than out of the box.

My daughter has one. I'll find out what brand it is. She used it for years before I got her a new head unit. Never had any problems with it as far as I know. Only deal she ever mentioned is that while traveling you have to switch stations sometimes.

Hey man, I totally recommend wiring in a peripheral adapter. Usually it used the cd changer port to import the CD sound. Not usually too difficult but a bit of work under the dash. Yet, the sound is totally worth it. I tried a few FM transmitters in the box and they all were bleh. Probably hunt around on a Mustang board or check out Crutchfield.

gotta agree with everyone else. WE tried a couple of FM transmitters first and they were terrible and we likely don't have near as many stations up here. Last straw came when I was stopped at a light listening to some cool jazz and suddenly my system switched to Livin' On a Prayer because the guy that pulled up next to me had a stronger transmitter.
Hard-wiring a dongle is the way to go.
