Default Question for Joya de Nicaragua Antano 1970 Smokers

I had a Joya de Nicaragua Antano 1970 Machito (4 3/4 x 42) today. I really enjoyed it. Does anyone else think that the flavor kind of resembles an Illusione?

I have smoked quite a few Antanos in the past few months and I have never thought they tasted similar to an Illusione. To me they have totally different profiles, but everybody has different tastes.

I love the JdN Antanos, but ive never had an illusione to compare it with. Im sure if it's anything like the JdN it must be good!

I like them better than the Illusione, which are more of a medium smoke. I bought a box of the Machitos a couple months ago, they are a great short smoke.

I would not compare them with any illusione I have had, only comparrison I can imagine as that both brands are quite full bodied smokes.

I can see what you mean. They both have a very hearty tobacco taste, some people might describe as "earthy". The JdN has a bit more sweetness to me though.

EB, is there a particular Illusione size that you are comparing the Machito to? Having smoked a few JDN Robusto Grande', I find the Illusiones in the lightweight division myself...

I've smoked quite a few of both, and enjoy them but don't think they have similar tastes. I'd prefer an Illusion

Can't say that they are alike,,,the JDN's are pretty much full bodied and stronger but then again, we all don't have the same taste buds. I sure wish I could tune mine into thinking dog rockets tasted like Opus cigars.

The closest to the machito might be the 68, but in there own right they are both great cigars.
