iPhone v. Blackberry Storm v. Dare ----- AHHHH!!!
I cannot make up my mind.
I have read about them all. I am so cluttered with information. My Verizon contract is up now in January. I love their service/reception. I have AT&T for my work cell and it sucks compared to my Verizon. I had AT&T before. I can get a nifty discount from work with AT&T iPhone Nifty, compatible with my MacBook, Wifi, on and on and on Storm Nice features similar to iPhone but no Wifi and no iTunes as I have to use their music download or a memory card which adds more work to it. Dare Ahhhh.......football season.....live TV broadcast that the other two don't have (I think). So...... Confused. New company for the iPhone and MacBook compatibility? Stay with Verizon, carry and iPod, go with the Storm? Screw the data plan charge, use it towards the live cast TV, stay with Verizon and go with the Dare? Decisions, decisions, decisions. I wish it took me this long to make up my mind on a box of Cuban cigars.

I'm with you, I have a Palm 700p and I'm sick and tired of it (it's my SIXTH!!!) and I'm with Verizon and do love them even though they keep sending me sh!itty phones (see above). I'm about to pull the trigger on the STORM but really, it doesn't have Wifi??? I thought it does...
iPhone is nice and yeah, sucks that I can't upload my music onto the STORM. |

Re: iPhone v. Blackberry Storm v. Dare ----- AHHH
the storm will play your AAC files and getting them to sync up is as easy as dragging and dropping the files onto your phone. it comes with an 8 gig card built in. the main difference besides lacking wifi is that you can do MMS with the storm and you have a removable battery. those are pluses, not having wifi isn't much of an issue as long as you have coverage where you are going to use the device.
the dare does not have mobile tv. it has vcast but not mobile tv capability. the voyager is the only touch screen that has tv capability. bottom line is play with all three and go from there. they all have their downsides. |

You can only connect via the phone network. That kind of turns me off in the event cell service is poor for some reason.

My daughter has the Voyager and I assumed the Dare would be the same. Bad assumption I guess. Well then, that leaves little desire for the Dare. That brings me to two choices. The removable battery is a plus indeed as you can buy an extra one if needed and never lose power.

Re: iPhone v. Blackberry Storm v. Dare ----- AHHH
I had the original iPhone for a year and got rid of it after getting a job with a new company. I wasn't getting any reception in the building and I would have a dead battery almost every night an hour or 2 after leaving work. I must state that this is the ONLY reason I changed. I loved my iPhone.
I moved to a Blackberry Pearl (8100) because I have always loved the Blackberry's I have had thru work. Plus they conserve battery a lot better then the iPhone. I have had none of the same problems as I did with the iphone battery and I'm still with at&t. I played with a storm over the weekend, and it is not as responsive as the iphone. For a touch screen, I vote iPhone. The iPhone is smooth and very responsive. The storm is slow and jerky. I don't like it. Just my |

Jay - What if your music files are in Apple's format (I've got an iTouch)? What's AAC? Sorry, I'm mostly a tech-idiot.

Re: iPhone v. Blackberry Storm v. Dare ----- AHHH
I likes my iPhone. I've seen the Storm. It's not as intuitive, but I'm sure the interface isn't that difficult. I know nothing of the Dare.
I didn't have any connection problems in South Florida over the last week using AT&T. That might be different in your area Carlos. The discount on the iPhone plan does come in handy. I think I pay $75/month with a 450 minute plan (don't like talking on the phone much), 1500 text, data, and International dialing plan after discounts. |

Re: iPhone v. Blackberry Storm v. Dare ----- AHHH
go Storm
u can do all the things people mentioned like Calculator, Organizer, etc with the BB Storm (all other phones have that basic stuff too). I mean cmon, Business/Organizing/Email? THATS WHAT BLACKBERRY IS KNOWN FOR! but with the BB Storm you can MMS, Copy & Paste (simple things iPhone does NOT do) AND u can customize the look of the BB Storm. You cant with the iPhone unless its jailbroken. the BB Storm has a Great Browser and with the constant new updates with OS BB has, the Storm gets better and better. u can use Black Berry Media Sync to sync with your Itunes on the BB Storm. And the Macbook Desktop is coming soon also. the BB storm has landscape mod to type as an option, in case u like that. the iPhone does not. the iPhone is missing simple things, so they can get u to buy the next version. $$$ hungry. And the 3G network with verzion is just as good as AT&T. so as far as coverage goes, your fine. especially if you have great verizon coverage. the camera is great, and it has Video Camera (the iPhone does not) why would u want what every teenage girl has? (iPhone) Go Storm! AND the APP store is coming in March!!!! PS: if you have 3G coverage with the Storm, dont worry about WiFi. you wont need it, yet a lone use it. |

Re: iPhone v. Blackberry Storm v. Dare ----- AHHH
I like my iPhone, and since they came out with the devkit, the features have improved greatly. The camera is lacking, but it works well enough for me to maintain all of my damage claims for my business. I use Quip (downloadable app) to MMS via the iPhone and it works great. I'm of the opinion though, that everyone should E-mail not MMS.
That said, Apple hasn't really allowed the best features out of the box. And they may not. I think the choice between the two is more personal preference. Whichever feels more natural to you is probably the best. For me, it's all about what lets me work efficiently. |

Re: iPhone v. Blackberry Storm v. Dare ----- AHHH
Carlos I would go with either the iPhone or Dare for now I think depending on what you are looking for. With the iPhone you have the internet, email, googlemaps, etc.. at your fingertips at all times. The Storm I believe will do the same, but I don't think it will do it as well. There has also been complaints about the force feedback screen as well as some bugs with the first run of the storm. I think most can get fixed with updates (to my knowledge they have not been fixed so far)
If you don't want to switch to ATT then the Dare looks like it would be a nice phone, but will leave you wanting more if you want it as capable as the iphone or storm. I was excited about the Storm when it came out because I could stay with Verizon and still have something that was close to an iPhone. However, the Storm's lack of wifi is a really big turn off for me, even my ipod touch has wifi on it. I think maybe the 2nd Gen. Storm will be good, if they fix the bugs and get some damn wifi capabilities in it.
