Dear Lord, Thank You.

I Need A Full Face Respirator.
Just wanted to quickly ask if any of you guys use them, what for, and what model/filters you use?
I don't need it for vapors, just particulates. But I'm sure I'll purchase the full-range cartridges. I should be wearing one in the shop all the time, but the stuff I'm using now just ain't getting it. It's miserable to use and I don't wear it as often as I should. As a result, I've been hacking around the house like a retard that doesn't wear his respirator. I've had pneumonia twice and worked in asbestos for 20 years, and both bottom thirds of my lungs are shot. All scars. I figure 66% ain't bad, I have way less brain left.

Re: I Need A Full Face Respirator.
I've always been happy with the performance of the AO Safety products. Even their dual filter (with the plastic caps that snap on the outside of the basic canister to add a second particulate filter) will filter some chemical vapors and you can readily change the exterior particulate pad filter which is cheap without tossing the cartridges. When you step up to the big organic vapor cartridges, probably overkill for what you need, but it seems like nothing bad gets through them - at least none of the stuff I've dealt with; paints, solvents, refrigerants and caustic cleaners.

Re: I Need A Full Face Respirator.
Thanks for that, Adam.
I took a look. I checked prices best I could, but there wasn't a lot online to really shop it. I think I settled on this one from 3M. I got the sense that the AO Safety stuff is just rebranded 3M stuff, it uses 3M cartridges. So all things being the same, I thought I should try to find the most comfy one I could find so I'll actually wear it.

Re: I Need A Full Face Respirator.
Yeah, I stocked up on cartridges 5-6 years ago, so I haven't looked around lately and it looks like AO Safety might have been acquired by 3M and they dropped the products but integrated the technology. This would explain the dwindling availability of the cartridges.

Re: I Need A Full Face Respirator.
I did end up ordering that 3m this morning, Adam. I'll try it out and see how it is.
There's another one they make with a little better reveiwes, but this one is supposed to be the best fit, so we'll see. Thanks for the help, brother. It's appreciated!!!
