Default The 16 degree Cigar Fiasco

During our freeze out I was Jonesing for a stogie. I mean, it had been since mid December since my last one. I said what the hell, it's 16 degrees outside, I'l just bundle up and prep the smoke here in the house, then go sit on my porch bench and enjoy my cigar. It started fine for about 5 minutes. Then it got really hard to draw. Then, it got hard to keep lit. Then the wrapper started flaking off. I was like what the heck is going on here? Well, after a few minutes of looking it over I concluded the perfect 70 percent humidity froze and my tropically moist cigar freaked out on my and turned to crap.

Can't imagine 40 below. But, i fell in love with cigars during the winter 3 years ago. Sitting out on my front porch. La Gloria Cubana with straight up Bacardi Gold outside between 15 and 45 degrees. Near perfect!

Yes, it's great but you have to get used to hearing Tom say, 'It rubs the lotion on its skin or else it gets the hose again", over and over.

This is why I have a smoking room which is also my personal entertainment room. My MAC, My 50in HDTV, my PS4, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, 2 "ready" humidors (one for NC and the other for CC), Mini frig/freezer., and a damned litter box/feed station for my cat who never leaves my side. All for those billion degree summers and a fan system for the beautiful winters so i can open up the windows. It's all about prepping

I got sick of smoking out in the summer and the cigars either getting too hot/harsh or burn issues due to the near ocean levels of humidity and in the winters the cigars drying out too fast and bursting so by the end of it the cigar looked like an exploding cigar aftermath.
