Default bundles vs boxes

I know - this is probably a stooopid question, but I've never ordered bundled cigars before.
Q1: Are bundles the same quality as the same cigars packed in boxes?
Q2: Are cigars in bundles individually cello wrapped, or even wrapped at all???

Not talking dog rockets, but decent cigars.

Usually bundles are individually cello'd, I think they are same quality but maybe saving some $$ on packaging. The whole bundle will be cello'd also.

Can't say I've ever noticed a difference between boxed or bundled
cigars of the same type. Cheaper because they don't have to pay
for packaging (which in some cases I think costs more than the
cigars do).

Most of the time, each cigar is individually cello'd, so no worries.

I also believe the guv'mint taxes boxed cigars at a higher rate than bundles, which is why some brands what used to be in boxes are no longer.

That being said, though there are many good quality bundle cigars available, most of the true premium smokes come in boxes of some sort.

On the other hand, Phillies come in boxes too, so there's that.

Eric is wise. It's all about lower costs. You have the cost of manufacturing the box plus also the weight and space of the box when shipping. They can pack a lot more mazos of cigars in a container than boxed cigars.

When I was down in Nicaragua a few years ago, one of the manufacturers commented that his boxes cost about $5-6 for everything, so that can add up quick with a big production. If you're a discount volume reseller like CI, Famous, JR, etc. all that matters is the bottom line on the cigar and factory mazos are cheaper.

I like to buy a box and then re-fill it with bundles if possible.

I just bought a bundle of Cromagnon Mode 5's for about 40 bucks less than the box I bought. I'll be going this route more often
