Which do you prefer? I have always cut my cigars, but recently got a punch and I like the change.

Both work nicely.
Most of the time I use my Palio but I like a punch now and then.

The punch cutter on most headers large enough to accommodate the punch. I enjoy the draw coming from the punched hole. Any thing with a small ring gage gets the Palio

Yup. Almost always a cutter. Most of the cigars I've been smoking lately are too slim even to try a punch.

been using (cigar) scissors almost exclusively for the past 6 months or so. everytime it's a perfect custom cut, I'll probably keep using these until something else shiny comes along and distracts me

I'll also add that I like to use a punch cut on a cigar that looks delicate or has a slight crack near the head. Typically, the punch will prevent further damage or the cigar from peeling apart.
