Dear Lord, Thank You.

We Got A Brand New Road For Christmas!!!
Actually, this is a new development and the developer never finished the road. The city took over and they'll pinch the guy's bond for the cost.
All that needed done was the finish coat, but the crews did some curb work in the last couple weeks, plus a little grinding and prep work. Funny how weird things make a person so happy, but I'm so thrilled I'm posting pictures and writing a thread about something nobody could possibly care about. Everyone's places look so nice and everything is all new and shiny, and this road and the common areas are two things that have really made things look below par. I'm sure the folks that have sold their houses must have taken a beating, and a couple houses haven't sold that have been for sale for a few months. The best thing is that the city will take care of the road now, plowing and salting. The homeowners had to pay for it up till now and we got the cheap guy. He'd show up a couple days after it snowed. If the road doesn't turn you on, maybe the big trucks and stuff will. Who doesn't like heavy machinery, right?

I thought this guy was bringing me stuff, but the Fedex guy came just now. He brought my new mortising machine. Now I'm extra double excited!!!!

Re: We Got A Brand New Road For Christmas!!!
I wish my road would get paved. Living in the desert, the whole track I live on is all sand. Most roads in town are paved, except our housing track.. We all could afford to have road put down I'm quite sure.. But, the neighbors and I are a little hesitant to throw down the $100k+ for just our street to be paved.

Larry, they fixed the main road coming in here this summer, and finished the whole development yesterday, so it's like heaven here now. I'm looking forward to seeing how nice it looks come spring.
