Revisited from 2010: Maria Mancini Corona Classico
I joined CA in May 2010 and my first (and only) review was on the
Maria Mancini Corona which can be viewed here:http://www.cigarasylum.com/vb/showthread.php?t=32268 In my last review, I had just purchased a box and only gave the cigars 2 weeks in my humidor before smoking. Advance 2 years later and I still have half the box resting in my humidor and decided to revisit this cigar. The cigar: Maria Mancini Corona Classico Size: 5.50 X 44 Wrapper: H2000 Binder: Honduras Filler: Nicaragua Shape: Parejo Box Pressed. Box of 20: $70 at JRs. Pre-Light: A small corona with a firm box press. Smell of barnyard with a little resistance on the draw. 1st Third: Initial light provides a mouthful of earthy flavors and a slight pepper aftertaste. I taste something toasted, maybe nuts but can't put my finger on it. 2nd Third: Toasted (nuts) are more in the front of the flavors with a touch of cocoa. Flavors continue from the 1st third. Last Thrid: Cigar opening up with much more smoke. Not chewy smoke. Flavors continue which I am enjoying. The cigar burn much better than last time I smoked this but again, it had 2 years to sleep. I enjoyed this cigar. Nothing fancy, no power pepper kick in the butt flavor but a simple honest cigar. At $70 a box of 20, I will reorder a box when this box runs low. |
