Alec Bradley Select Cabinet Reserve Robusto
This 5×50 cigar features a dark chocolate wrapper with a rough slightly toothy hard paper feel and firm pack. It has a triple cap, minimal veins, tight seams and a rich chocolate and tobacco aroma. First light reveals a perfect draw and medium bodied flavors of a soft, silky smooth nut and leather combo, with a tobacco finish. The first third ramps up the body with a sweet leather, quickly fading to a short rather clean finish with plenty of rich smoke output and a good burn. 30 minutes in at the 1/2 way point, the 2nd third also brought flavors of a cream and black pepper with a spicy finish, leaving a tingle and zing on my lips and tongue. The last third changes yet again to a big roasted nut and burnt caramel, with exceptional smoke output. I ended it at 40 minutes where it began to get very warm. Video on the site

Re: Alec Bradley Select Cabinet Reserve Robusto
Not sure if it's me or the sticks. I have tried the different Alec Bradley blends & I have yet to find one that has made me go WOW...
Is it me, the Sticks or the retailers???

I've had my best experiences with a MAXX aged a coupe years, and a Tempus Lancero - but neither really knocked my socks off. Good for the price, but nothing WOW like a comparably priced Padron for example IMO.

I was wowed by this cigar in the corona size. Only smoked a handful. Seems like the smaller ring AB's are the best ones. Haven't smoked the SCR in a couple years, but I remember enjoying it. Thanks for the review!

Thanks for the review. I like these for the first third in all sizes. But for no apparent reason they always have me bored with them before the halfway point. Best relegated to fishing, golfing or yardwork when I'm not concentrating on the cigar.
I have been wowed by: Tempus Maduro Magistri (Figurado, but smaller RG than most perfectos) - By far best size for this blend - more rich, complex and dynamic than other sizes Prensado Corona Gorda - I love the Pernsado in this thinner RG...would really like to try it even smaller - a truer corona or a lancero |

Nice review. I personally think the band on this cigar is hideous!
