Cigar art - where to buy
Ive seen pics of some of your homes and noticed pictures hanging of cigar art. Since my cabinet will be on it's way soon I would like to hang a few in that room.
Where is everyone buying their cigar art, I googled but surprisingly not much comes up. Thanks everyone, Shawn |

Re: Cigar art - where to buy
I would recommend going down to your local universities art show, find some local talent/student whose work you enjoy and ask them if they would do some one off for you, as incorporated into one of their projects/assignments. It might mean more than just purchasing some stuff off some dude on the web, you are supporting a student whose talents you appreciate, and not limiting yourself to something avalable for just anyone. Personal, supportive, to your tastes, and even better, original. A couple hundred bucks goes a very long way, and you some very individual tailored work. You could give them ideas, some bands or design parameters that go with their style and yours that you have selected from their showing/display, help them, yourself, and your community all at once. Everyone wins.

Re: Cigar art - where to buy
I think these came out in October or November of 2003. Images of the people and the country of Honduras are reflected in bright, vivid colors by Jose Rodriguez, a Honduran folk artist.
As for the cigars, the Hoyo de Monterrey Seleccion del Arte is described by the company as spicier and fuller in body than the standard Hoyo de Monterrey line. It has a dark Honduran-seed wrapper that was developed by cigar master Angel Daniel Núñez and grown on a small scale over the last few years. Because of the short supply of wrapper, the Hoyo de Monterrey Seleccion del Arte was limited to 1,000 boxes of each size. The rest of the blend includes an Ecuadoran Sumatra binder and a filler comprising Honduran, Nicaraguan and Dominican tobaccos. What is interesting to me is that the this particular wrapper was in short supply and the artist boxes were a limited edition. They were at the RTDA 2003 show. I have the box ...with the artwork... |
