Tatuaje 109 Federal (Reserve)
I haven't seen anything posted about these here, so here's what I know.
The latest release in Pete Johnson's limited edition, franchise-specific blends is the Tatuaje 109 Federal, made to commemorate the 90th anniversary of Federal Cigar in New Hampshire. From the information I gathered, it's a Verocu blend with either a Nicaraguan Rosado (regular) or Connecticut Broadleaf (reserve) wrapper. It's a medium-full stick, similar to the Monte Edmundo Dante, 7 x 50. 409 box release in all, 300 of the regular and 109 of the reserve. Apparently the regular release is being sold by phone, and the reserves are in-store only (and may or may not be available yet). Found one pic of the reserve in the wild: I'll be up in NH this weekend, so I'm going to try and stop by Federal and see if I can't pick a few of these up.

Any idea on the price? I'm guessing $11-13

Since I haven't yet been to the shop I can't confirm this info, but Federal's post on another forum says that 5 packs are $54.50, 25 count box is $250 (both prices are for the naturals).

I really enjoy the Verocu blend. I would expect the usual Tat tax on another limited release.

Jesse, I would be willing to join a box split if you mange to get some. Either Natty or reserva.

Re: Tatuaje 109 Federal (Reserve)
I'd love to do a box split, but the fiancee lost her job tonight and the funds just aren't there to pick up a full box. Maybe one of the other Massholes who could get up there would be willing to host.

Re: Tatuaje 109 Federal (Reserve)
Just in from smoking with Tim #4 (thestatsguy). He gave me one of the reserves from a box that he purchased last night from the Plaistow store.I haven't smoked it yet but he says they're marvelous. He may be willing to part with some of his box. I believe he said they were sold out of them at the store. PM him

Re: Tatuaje 109 Federal (Reserve)
I decided to go for a joy ride this afternoon. All of the Reserva's are gone. Word is that there are around 150 boxes of the Rosado left.

Re: Tatuaje 109 Federal (Reserve)
I bought the last two singles in Portsmouth around noon, plenty of Rosado's left and the clerk said they would ship those if anyone is interested.

Re: Tatuaje 109 Federal (Reserve)
Met Klipsch for the 1st time today at the Plaistow store(hopefully not the last time).
I smoked the Federal 109 Rosado today and it was unbelievable. Have not opened up the Reserva box but just my opinion I would not worry about chasing the Reservas as it is hard for me to imagine that the Reserva is going to be any better. On another note if you ever get a chance to head up to NH make sure you stop in Federal Cigar, the owner Rick is a pleasure to talk and share a smoke with and the Epping & Plaistow stores(only 2 I was in) have an amazing selection. Was worth the 2 hour ride for me today.

Re: Tatuaje 109 Federal (Reserve)
Smoked the rosado this afternoon. Very refined for a young smoke. Excellent cigar.
Just finishing up a Reserva...very sharp but not in a bad way. I think with some time to sit these will be a winner - as the Rosado is now. Hi Klipsch! |
