Default Interesting Mysterious Box

So I get into work and a client whom i've shot bow with in past was there, and he was talking on how people go out of their way to live their beliefs and i shared of Joey's and todds mishaps with a woman and their pipe/cigar and all of a sudden he says "me and the ex-wife picked up a property a few years back and it had a box with some cigars in it not sure what they are but i grabbed them and they have been sitting on her refrigerator since, would you like them?"
Without even thinking they have been sitting there unattended unbabied for 2 years I says sure I need to work on receiving things specially if its going to go to waste. So I then started thinking am I getting Cheapos? Couldn't be much worse than whats in my humidor now. So I ask hey what kind of symbol is on the box? He said "its just a wooden box".I think hmm I ask" Did it have a lil circle on it with numbers ?" He says "yeah and a black plastic thing with a sponge inside." I go HMMM a humidor unattended 2+years . He asks well would you like me to bring it to you, you can have all of it. I go " sure I'll bring them back to life and if anything if I can't I'll use the Humidor not sure if they're bad being unattended that long"
But thats MY story and i'm sticking to it. Made me feel good. Will inspect them and do the proper sanitizing for bugs of coarse but I'm scared to put these boys through anymore trauma, Being uncared for for 2+ years not even known they had a humidor .

I would think you can bring them back to life. I think we will need pix when you get them though. Cigars are very resilient, they should be ready to rock after a couple of months of proper humi time.

There is no way that these cigars will have any of the flavor they were intended to have. Two years unattented is far too long for any hope at resilience. If the humidor itself is nice, keep it for a desktop, but other than for the sake of experimenting, don't concern yourself with the cigars.

Whats the worst that could happen?

I say go for it, if they dont come back they dont come back, and you're only out a little bit of time.

Like I said, "other than for the sake of experimenting". I have had cigars that have been out of a humidor for over a year. Even after months of trying to bring them back, they were like smoking air.

I agree....you may bring them back to be "smokable", but that doesn't equal "good".

bah the experiment is a no go guy came in tonight and said he just talked to his ex wife and she tossed it out beginning of summer. I was looking forward to the extra humidor for that just in case day if I keep getting these samplers or what nots. and intrigued what kinda sticks and condition they were in. Oh well easy come easy go. I can however post this new pick up off of Cigar auctioneer. It is an 18 count wooden travel buddy. But may use it to age stuff since I don't have cushion in it yet.
