Default No Good Deed Goes Unpunished

Let me say this upfront. IT WAS NOT MY FAULT .

my wife and i went to a wedding yesterday for one of her co-workers kids. ceremony went off without a problem. after we went to this swanky county club. reminded me of bush wood. anyway at the reception decided to go out to smoke a stogie. one of the guys there another freind of the wifes.asked if he could go with me to get outside for a while. being the good botl that i am said yea sure. by the way i learned a long time a go to take a few extra sticks along to weddings. theirs always someone that wants to smoke a cigar and bs with someone they really don't know very well. so we go out find a cool shady place with a breeze in 90+ heat found a nice patio with a fire pit in the middle. i hand the guy a gurhka park ave 44 churchill after i cut it. start talking and smoking and general chit-chat about half way thru we decide to go in to check and see if they started serving dinner. i got up walked the ten feet to the fire pit to clip my cigar to finish after dinner. the other guy got up also walked over to get his cigar clipped. after he hands me the stick i start to clip he takes a nose dive into the pit face first. what i found out later is that he had had 3 manhattes in about 45 min to an hour before. he's all of 125lbs.so it hit him just as we were sitting there. as i proceeded to pick him up his head and face are bleeding like a stuck pig. i reach into my pocket and pull out a clean hanky and try to clean him up to see where he's bleeding from the most and if he will need stiches. he looked like he had gone 15 rounds with mike tyson. a big gash on his forehead and the bridge of his nose got that under control took him to the head to get cleaned up a bit as he's wipeing his face it starts to bleed again so. being the good person that i am and feeling some what reasonable . i went to see if i could get a band aid went to the bar as always bartender was eager to help. he went into the kitchen came back with 2 band aids. not looking real hard at them went back to the head to help a brother out. get back he's looking cleaner but not much better. opened one of the band aids to find out that it's phloresent blue. i proceeded to cut a small strip to try to close the gash in his forehead. it helped get him looking better and go back to sit at our table at the dinner. as i walked behind my wife to sit down i leaned over and said IT WAS NOT MY FAULT. i did the best i could do with what i had to work with. as the brother sat down his wife said.why do you have Indian war paint on. (pause)what the hell happened to you . he proceeded to tell his wife what happened and that it was not Dan's fault. at the same time my wife said WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DO TO HIM.

so as you can see no good deed goes unpunished . it was an open bar. i was made designated driver.

sorry for the long post

It was the Gurkha that was responsible.
That would make anyone want to do a face plant in a fire pit.
