Default Shilala's Beads

Just place my bead order. 3 8ounce bags at 65%. From the pages and pages of things I have read that seems about the norm for a 28btl fridge. Thanks for all the input guys!!

You wont regret it. I have been using mine for just a few weeks and have not had to do anything with them. May need more for my Vinodore.

I will second this. I had the heartfelt beads and just could not get the humidity to stabilize. The Shilala beads have been rock solid. I just put in my chasidor draws and the beads are working well to pull the humidity back up while seasoning is going on. Great product!!!

I love my beads also need to order some more soon just waiting on my drawers from Chasden. They worked so well I actually gifted some to a friend when I went back east on a trip.

Question: Have Shilala or CigarNut thought about making something to replace the discs in a travel humidor. Such as the Xikar travel 30 count?

I have thought about and and continue to do so... There are some interesting hurdles that need to be overcome and I have not had a lot of time for this yet...

When I bought beads from Shilala over a year ago, I bought a pound of the 2oz bead bags partly for that reason. I have them scattered throughout my Vino, but I can easily grab one and through it in the travel humi. I just place it at the foot of the cigars.

Once I figured out how I was supposed to use the beads, and factored in things I should've from the get go the beads are solid. I actually have been fretting over them thinking i need to add moisture, but the readings are all still the same! My old crystal habits are slowly going away.

Pretty low key maintenance and CigarNut was helpful when I had a question.

You will be very happy

It would be pretty cool is the fabric 'sock' could be put into a plastic cage to help protect it and keep it from getting snagged and worn from moving them around. The ones in the bottom of my vino never move but the one in the top constantly gets moved and I fear that one day it will wear... and then all those microscopic beads will make a huge mess.

That's what I have been looking to do... The catch is that the plastic enclosure needs lots and lots of holes for the beads to work and I have not yet found anything suitable.

What about a plastic mesh material? It wouldn't be a solid plastic 'cage' but it would increase the durability of the containment material.
