Smoke me if you can...

Okay, time to think back to that very first cigar you smoked. Was it memorable? Is it why you smoke cigars today? How does it differ from the very first stick?

Kahlua Torpedo. That is what got me started. I very seldom smoke infused cigars anymore, but I will always remember the Kahlua cigars.

Habanos Torres 8 Year double corona. I had smoked maybe one Black and Mild and hookah. I really enjoyed the hookah. I figured I'd give a cigar a try. While I was doing laundry my roommate fetched some booze and we found what I now know to be the best cigars I've ever smoked.

My first cigar? No idea what it was, I just know that my friend stole it out of his dad's humi. We bit the end...like and inch up and puff, puff, passed that sucker with me and 3 other kids.

I was 17 years old... my friend was working at a convenience store. He had cigars at the counter... I think they were 15 cents a piece.
We both bought a King Edward and fired it up. As I recall, it wasn't too terrible. ![]() The first long-filler all tobacco cigar was a Baccarat... around 1994. The one that made the difference was a Honduran puro my wife brought back for me in August 2006. Been all over for me sine then. ![]() |

I was 12 when I lit my first cigar, a Dutch dry cigar, used it to light fireworks.
The first cigar of my 'cigar career' was a Cohiba siglo II or an MC#3 on a vacation to Indonesia. Sitting on the porch, watching a tropical rain pour down while sipping on a nice glass of Glenfiddich 15yo Solana reserve. |

My first good cigar was an Onyx Reserve Robusto and I still occasionally partake in one.
The first mini mart cigar that I had was a Backwoods and at the time it was pretty good.

I've smoked cigars for a couple of years off and on before I really smoked my first.
10 November 2003 - Marine Corps Birthday: A wise old 1st Sgt. took a young Lance Corporal under his wing and gave me a an old Montecristo. For that hour or so while I smoked with him, he told me about the Corps back in the day when he was a Lance Corporal. Since then I've been hooked and to this day I still have the band from that cigar. ![]()

Best I can recall, it was a wooden tipped Tiparillo. Smoked it on the Huntington Beach Pier in either '69 or '70. I don't remember it being exactly a stellar smoke. I suppose it did set me out on Tobacco Road though.
