Default Anyone have a Dyson?

We are in the market for a new vacuum. I'm leaning toward the DC24 (we live in an apartment so smaller is better).

In the DC25 series is there a real difference in the "Pet" edition besides the purple paint job? What is the deal with the "Blueprint" edition?

I've always had cheap-o vacuums that last a year and then I chuck it and buy another so this is a stretch for me.

Yes, we had the pet one but it was lost in the house fire we had. It worked great but is way expensive. FYI, I spoke to a client of mine in the business and he said it costs $69 to produce a Dyson. Not a bad markup.

I do, and it sucks!

Really well!

I did a lot of looking into the whole pet thing since I have a hairy beast that doesn't retain hair well.

It basically gets you a couple of cool hair gathering attachments.

I went with a regular old yellow one and love it.

Can't remember the model # right now, but it was worth the money.

Of course, now we have pulled all of our carpet and refinished the hardwood floors underneath, so a dust mop will do the trick.

We have a Dyson, I don't recall which model. It is the BEST vacuum I have ever used. Top notch quality and performance.

Interesting you mention this. We have all hardwoods with throw rugs. Is the hardwood performance as good as the carpet performance?

The hardwood performance is Great. If the throw rugs are light weight the Dyson will suck them up right off the floor.

i use to use one a lot when i lived with my parents. hardwood down with some rugs and wall to wall up stairs. Most vacs only work for a 3 years then your looking for a new one. this one is 4 years old and still going strong. it works realy well. I want one for my place but i seem to keep getting cigars.

I have one too, and I'm with Darrell. Using it for the first time, you'll be really surprised by the performance. We have the older "slim" version, and it works pretty well on hardwood, but really shines on carpet.

And Tim is right, the only advantage of the Animal edition is the attatchments, and it comes with some of the carpet cleaning solution, and powder.

We have a Hoover that is a Dyson "clone". It has been an awesome vacuum and cost about half. We had a cheap vacuum before and when it broke we got this one and vacuumed the floor where we had just got done with the old one. The dirt tank filled up in only a few swipes, it was amazing!!

Dysons are FANTASTIC. Just remember to clean it out thoroughly every 6 months or so, as those cones can get dirty, which reduces suction. Even that's easy though.

Indeed I do back home. It's the one with the ball for easy turning.

Let me help you....

First the ball fir easy turning, crock of poop. Doesn't make it like the commercials if anything it makes it feel more unstable in your hand.

Second that whole never stops sucking thing is true if you're reffering to the quality of the vacuum. It was not prepaired to handle the spring time shedding of a rotwheiler that lives indoors.

Sometimes when I go to grab it out of the closet I expect to find it hanging from a bent coat hanger with a suicide note attached.

That's not factoring mold costs or R&D. Both of those add up quick.

I'd bet most vacuums cost maybe 10-15$ to produce.

No clue Jordan, I was hardly paying attention to her until she told me the price and I realized my wife spent $500 on ours.
