Default How do you label your cigars?

I tried to search and couldnt find anything here and I did a google search for how to label cigars. I was hoping that I was going to get a few forum hits and then I can see examples of peoples labeling methods.

How do you guys label?

Paper and tape for me but blank cigar labels are available too.

Mostly I just either write with a sharpie if it has cello, and use a piece of printer paper and cut my own bands if it don't, then secure it with a small piece of scotch tape. Lots of folks buy blank bands too.

I think he's asking what you put on the label. For me, I just put a date on the cello "tail" with a Sharpie. But, the wife just got a Brother label printer in a Secret Santa at work. I may give it a try and start making note of where I got the stick as well.

hahaha TG

Im sorry I guess I should have said I've seen the labels, but I dont think the cost justifies the use. Its a throw away item that can be made out of regular paper and se3cured with tape.

Can we use sharpie on the label? Will the bleed thru effect the cigar ( after the ink is dry ) and what about using a label machine to make some and affix them to strips of paper?

edit: yeah kreth thats what i meant.

Sharpies are fine, the solvent dries so quickly that it won't affect anything.

Here's an excel spreadsheet that I got from buddhadaddy a few years ago for making labels. The first sheet is a macro that will generate multiple identical labels, the second sheet is for singles.

I never label them. If they come in a box they stay in there. So if there is a date code, I get it off the box.

You know what I was thinking of trying to get ahold of?

Sometimes, in restaurants, you get your silverware wrapped in a napkin, held together by a paper ring. The adhesive is stronger than a post-it note, and they definitely seem big eough to wrap around a cigar.

Anybody with connections to the restaurant industry have a lead on where to get these, and if they are cost effective compared to the fancy cigar bands?

PS: Group buy?
