Cabaiguan Robusto
"Cabaiguan Robusto Natural Cigars are a medium-bodied cigar created by Pete Johnson in concert with Pepin Garcia and his son Jaime. The cigars are named after a city in Cuba in northern Sancti Spíritus province that is home to some of the most knowledgeable cigar men in Cuba (Pepin just so happens to be from Cabaiguan as well). While they share some characteristics of the Tatuaje cigars in terms of construction and packaging, they are a distinct blend."
This was a very one dimensional cigar. The flavor profile was the same from start to finish. I mild earthy note and not much else. The draw was easy and gave off tons of smoke. Smoke time was just over an hour. A decent smoke, a bit too mild for my tastes. No burn issues at all.

Re: Cabaiguan Robusto
After a year or two these really shine, especially the Coronas Extra. FWIW, Pepin is from Baez, a town in Villa Clara province.

Awful cigar. Everyone ... please stop ordering these. Maybe my vendor can then keep these in stock.
One deminsional .. perhaps ... but I seem to like that deminsion. This is the only non-CC that I smoke on any regular basis. GREAT with my morning coffee. |

Re: Cabaiguan Robusto
Mild, yes. One dimensional? Hmmm, never had that issue.
This is one of the best of the cigars to hit the market in the last 4 years. It is a nice nutty smoke, complex, and yet, easy on the nose and palate.

I love 'em...and the Tatuages...the Cabaiguan's are probably my go to smoke...

Re: Cabaiguan Robusto
Thanks for the review. I am not a fan of the regular Cabs but love the maduros.

Re: Cabaiguan Robusto
Ya know, I have yet to figure out what it is I'm tasting when I smoke a Cabaiguan. Whatever it is, I love it. I keep a box of Corona Extras and Petites on hand at all times and usually have a maduro or two laying around.
Awesome line of cigars that just "does it" for me. |
