Default Oliva Serie V Maduro

Date: 10/24/08

Cigar: Oliva Serie V Maduro (6.5 x 52)

Cost: $8

Drink: Coke

Temperature: 46 F, 10 mph winds

Appearance: 1 banded cigar that says "Oliva Serie V Maduro Especial" on the band. The wapper was smooth with no major veins showing.

Pre-light: Didn't really have any special scent to it. I didn't really pick up any special taste pre-light.

Taste of the cigar: This cigar was chocolatey, spicy, and had a little bit of coffee flavor. It also had a nice sweetness to it. It never got harsh.

Construction: Held an long ash. The draw was perfect. The cigar required a few touchups.

Strength: This was a full flavored cigar. I didn't get a nic buzz from it.

Halfway through:

3/4 through:

Summary: This cigar was delicious. These are better than the regular Oliva V's. I would definitely buy this again. OLIVA NEEDS TO MAKE THESE AGAIN! I give this a 9.5/10.

I had one of these last night, almost the exact same experience...but I did get a spicy pre-light taste but really never any spice during the smoke. It was extremely smooth and will be a great cigar to age. I did get burn problems during the last third...it just did not want to stay lit

My cigar went completely out halfway through. I believe it to be b/c they are still fresh from the factory.

Great review and I love the pictures. I'm like a little kid, I flip (scroll) through the photo's then read. I just picked up two boxes from my local B&M. They have four boxes open and ready, just screaming "Waynegro1, Waynegro1, Take us to our new home" I couldn't resist. This is why I don't go to the humane society. What ya gonna do?
Again, great review.

I didn't think this cigar was all that great. It looked beautiful, had a smooth, peppery flavor but the thing just wouldn't stay lit. I was working harder on a cigar than I had in a long time. It might have been a little too wet from the BM, but it didn't seem spongy and I've never had problems with his smokes before. I picked them up Thursday and let them sit outside the humi until Saturday night. I was in the Man Den, so neither wind nor temp was an issue. I gave one to PitmanGeek and his was worse than mine. I feel I shouldn't have to work that hard to enjoy something.
