I play a Martin D1. But I don't play any blue grass and am not that good. I do a lot of finger picking though!

I have been playing the guitar at my church for the last few month's. We have a new choir director and we have (after three years) finally built up a live band. I have been meeting with a professional guitar player that the choir director knows to get my skills better (everyone can get better, especially me). Anyhow I was at the professionals house the other day and he has a rocktron banshee talkbox, so I kinda mentioned that I always wanted to give the talkbox a shot, since Peter Frampton did it in the 70s I think everyone who plays guitar at least has thought about it. He says hey man no problem take it home with you, so I did. Kinda cool and was able to do some stuff right away, although talking is harder than I thought. Anyhow sent the guy an email a couple days later thanking him for letting me borrow it and telling him how cool it is. He sends me back an email and says "cool, you can have it" I was kinda blown away, cause the cheapest I have seen them is around $150.00. Long story short, I met with the choir leader today and we tried it out at the church and we will definately be putting in on some songs soon.

Glad you asked.
But you might not be glad at my answer!

I'm an old rock and roller, raised in country.
I do love bluegrass, but Good Lawd I can't fingerstyle worth a sniff!

I am a flatpicker I suppose.
(Kind of like calling George Lynch or Eddie Van Halen a flatpicker)!
So a shot of one of my weapons of choice is in order:

Been playing for over 30 years.
If it was a choice between cigars and guitars....
(Ducks)!

very sharp guitar. I have been playing acoustic for the last 30 years, and bought a MIM Strat to play at church.

Dead Eye: Awesome guitar. I can definitely see where you put some playing time! I recommend sanding down the fretboard lightly (0000 steel wool, or finer) then coating the whole thing in lemon oil. After it settles for like 10 minutes, wiping off the excess. I usually do this everytime I change out my strings. It keeps the fretboard and frets "healthy"

That being said here is my baby:
Martin DM (Fishman Matrix Infinity put in for stagework)

Slightly off topic:
Kala CE Concert Uke (made sure to get one with decent electronics)

I do...

A quick list of just the acoustic guitars (if I don't miss any) are:

Martin D76 (number 0049 of 1,976)
Breedlove AC-SR25 plus
Parkwood 320M w/ iBeam Active
Taylor 114ce
Ovation CC-48

...and a couple others.

The Breedlove is the one I play out with primarily and the Parkwood gets the majority of fingerstyle play.

Here's a video of mine that I used for a contest some time back (on the old site)... a brother here created a name for this song and won some cigars:

With a name like Cygnus X1 I would figure you as a Lifeson flatpicker

Lifeson is difficult to emulate.
Rik Emmett (Triumph) is my favorite for Canadian "flatpickers".

Great all round guitarist!
