Saw in the news there is some litigation that may cause skype to cease to exist as we know it.

The case won't go to trial until next year, so no worries yet. The heart of the dispute is a licensing agreement, which skype is accused of exceeding. I'm betting that some more favorable licensing agreement will be reached before it goes to trial.

Yeah, this stuff happens all the time, happened to RIM (blackberry) too. Mark is right, they will continue to exist and a last minute deal will be reached if need be.

I remember the big Blackberry scare a few years ago. It all turned out good.
