My old laptop was getting so slow I was about to replace it. I ran a utility to check the system including the hard drive and found the IO I was getting on the hard drive was only 30 megs per second. I brought home a new 160GB Seagate drive from work and cloned my drive. I feel like I have a new computer! 62 megs per second now.

5400 and I'm plugged in all the time anyway. I almost bought an Intel SSD but didn't want to put that much money into a 4 year old laptop. MCS

Computers are outdated the day you buy them! It's only a matter of degree.
