Very cool!

I was just watching it on the NASA website.

They lost one engine, but they said that it was OK if they lost one.

Cool shots Tony.

Wait to you see the night launches.
I can vividly see it all the way down in my area.
Amazing how it lights up the sky.

Launches are cool. I got to watch a shuttle launch while standing at the VIB when I was working on the Atlas V launch complex.

She was nice and clear from over in St Pete as well. It still blows me away that you can see that thing as clearly as you can from all the way across the state.

Great pics.

Thats awesome. Every time I have been to Florida I always seem to miss a launch. I was able to see a rocket launch from New Smyrna Beach but that was a good 50 miles or so from the cape. One of these days I gotta go see one.

Very cool! Now they just have to dodge the space junk and dock up with the Space station. It's crazy what goes into these launches.

Don't think so. Excerpt from the launch blog

Press to ATO
Sun, 15 Mar 2009 07:49:13 PM EDT

If one of Discovery's main engines were to fail at this point, the orbiter would still be capable of reaching orbit in an "Abort to Orbit" abort mode, known as ATO. However, Discovery's engines are performing well as the orbiter and its crew of seven continue on a path toward the International Space Station.

Press to MECO
Sun, 15 Mar 2009 07:50:17 PM EDT

At this point, Discovery can make it into orbit even if one engine failed. However, all three space shuttle main engines are performing as expected.
