Default Looking for foam inserts for travel humi

I ordered a plain lexan box for a travel humi. Does anyone know of a place I can buy sheets of the foam that has the indentations for the cigars? I would like to be able to cut my own.

Thinking about your need, I kind of came up with an idea you may find intriguing.

Having a GSI case myself, I find that packing it tight with cigars leaves me not needing to include foam or anything. I have just enough space for a hygrometer. With the seal on this thing, once I have humidified the cigars appropriately, I can take out the humidity element, pack with a few more cigars and close'er up and it holds a constant RH. It drops a bit, but that is because the other "new cigars" take up some humidity. Then its rock solid. In the dry environment I am in, I can see through the clear plastic and see that my cigars have held at 63% for the last 2 weeks with no humidity elements inside.

But....enough about me. Back to my idea.

How about taking some cellophane wrappers from other cigars you have smoked. Place in them some "flower arrangement foam" or similar, cut into the cylindrical shape of a cigar. Make a bunch of these. Since these foam elements are used in many humidity pucks, and the cellophane is supposedly water-vapour permiable, you could potentially be creating packing peices that would also act as humidity elements. (That being said, my first half of this post shows you how actual cigars, themselves, are probably the best packing/humidifying elements around). Another idea would be to replace the foam with actual humidity beads. The key would be to test the cellophane to make sure it isn't so permiable that it leaks, and to tape the cellophane tube shut and at a size that keeps the whole structure firm.

Cheers

Cyanide
