Re: (Official?) Pocket Knife Discussion Thread
I am interested in selling my Brous Silent Soldier Flipper.
I am not a fan of flippers, I only bought it because it is such an awesome design. It has a brand new lock up from the factory. Let me know if interested: I will make another for sale thread for it once I have all the pictures taken.

I've got that same sharpener, as well I've added a few of the diamond stone pieces. Seams to do a better job on stainless steel knives.

Re: (Official?) Pocket Knife Discussion Thread
My foody BIL gave me a Dexter Russell probably 25 years ago. Doesn't give you the precision angled sharpening of a system but with appropriate pressure for a given steel plus a strop it does everything I want. Standing it vertically on the ends makes it possible to very closely replicate your angles from one side to the other of the rods.

Re: (Official?) Pocket Knife Discussion Thread
After a couple sharpenings on the kit, I have come to realize you must do a regrind on each knife once. It's the only way to make the angles match the machine.

Re: (Official?) Pocket Knife Discussion Thread
The Transportation Security Administration will temporarily delay a policy change that would have allowed passengers to carry small folding knives onto planes.
Until further notice, the items remained banned from the cabin of commercial planes. Last edited by captain53; 04-22-2013 at 07:51 PM. Reason: Correction |

Funny thing is I never was attracted to those, yet I really like my design. I will post up a couple more skecthes. I have list my Brous SSF up for sale on a knife forum, guess I should list it here too just in case. Here is the slimmer version: And the original sketches:
