Anyhoo, Seaver expressed his belief that Jeets would be the first unanimous vote-getter to be elected to Cooperstown.

As much as I like Jeter, and respect Seaver, I disagree.

Hey, Mo will be eligible one year earlier than Jeets.

I like Charlie Hustle, and hate Tom Seaver.

OK, I don't hate Seaver, I just feel like being argumentative. But I really do like Pete Rose. Realy, honest.

Tigers try to keep pace with the A's staff by adding David Price. They know have the last three AL Cy Young winners on their staff, although Verlander is having a rough year.

Hate to see Austin Jackson go, he found his stroke again the last 6 weeks and has been on fire. Guess you gotta give something to get something.

You got a nice pitcher with Price, Tom.

Wonder when folks will start slamming Detroit for "buying a pennant"?

Better to buy one than not get one at all.

And better to buy 27 than to buy only 4.

For that matter, better to LOSE 13 of 40 than lose 7 of 11.

Wow, I wasn't jumping on the Yankees at all, and you're jumping my chit.

Oh well....last year is last year, and the past is the past. We'll see who is in the playoffs in about 8 weeks.

The way he swung the bat in July, we will miss AJ big time....and as good as Price is, unless he pitches all complete games, we didn't solve our biggest problem.

Agreed, but I like our 4 man playoff rotation, Scherzer, Price, Verlander, Sanchez, with Porcello moving to the pen. They did pickup Soria prior. True they will miss AJ, but they weren't likely to pay him what he wants after 2015 anyway.

True about having Porcello and Soria in the pen for playoffs, almost a shame to have Porcello out of the rotation wth the season he's having.

Tigers - Yankees on ESPN tonight, should be a fun series. Wish I could see tomorrow's game on TV, I'd like to see Price's first start.

That's a riot! Maybe you out there in the boonies don't know it, but Bob Sheppard is STILL introducing Number 2, Derek Jeter, Jeter at Yankee Stadium, even though he's been dead for 4 years. Yeah, for Jeets and Jeets alone, they play a tape, so this is the LAST year since 1951 his voice will be heard in The Bronx . . . until maybe Old Timer's Day.

I also like the Jets/Giants part. This is a long-time Giants town, but the Jets built their multi-zillion dollar facility a pistol shot away. Man, did we have fun with the Sanchez/Tebow circus!
