Default Illusione CG4

This cigar got a high rating at Cigar Aficionado so I was very curious about it and the looks made my curiosity grow. The wrapper is very dark with some veins and a dark natural drawing in the leaf. The aroma was a very heavy manure aroma. The predraw tasted like raisin and was a little too easy.

When I light the cigar I can taste nuts with a light sour and herbs but the sour flavor disappears soon. Halfway some leather appears with some cacao on the background soon to be replaced with the nuts I could taste earlier.

The smoke is amazing, very thick & white and the ash is firm. The draw is a little too easy and the burn was a bit crooked.

Would I buy this cigar again? Yes, if possible, it’s hard to find.

Thanks for the review, I just smoked one of these a couple of nights ago and it was really great. I didn't get any of that sourness you were talking about, just great rich flavor throughout. I had to put it down early, but was really sad to do so. Definitely on the lookout for these when I get some cash for more cigars.

Nice review - talk about refined pallet "light sour and herbs". Wow, I tend to vary between good tobacco flavor and bad tobacco flavor.

I've got one of these laying around the humi someplace, might need to fire it up tonight (if my headcold behaves).

Hard to find? Really?

We have 4 boxes at my shop, not to mention boxes of all the other Illusiones as well. We do mail order, but you pay CA taxes and shipping.

Give the 888 a shot, its always been the best illusione to me. The new line, cruzados, will be here by Monday and they are great.

I am going to have to try the CG4 again. I had one a few months ago and I wasn't impresed. I like almost all the other Illusiones I have had, so I think I will give this one another shot.

Ahhh the rich mans Macanudo.
Sorry, of the few I have had it tasted like... well nothing, just plain air.
