A man of many talents!
Do you make your own special dipping sauce... or just eat them "natural?"

Sorry stitch, it appears you did not get the memo. No cooking pics without also
including the plate-up shot. Or in the case of me and some others, just a pile-o- bones shot. Alternatively, you could JUST post up the plate-up shot. LOL. |

Re: Mmmmmmmmm
Hehe....I feel ya. I had a friend over to eat some steaks the other day
and it was hot outside, so we just came upstairs and he tucks in right there at the kitchen counter and starts eating his steak. Not entirely odd, given I have no kitchen table and rarely have houseguests. My pad is set up around me eating in my recliner. But it was a lil strange. I like bourbon, too, but when I EAT it it's a bit disconcerting. |

Re: Mmmmmmmmm
Well, in LA we cook with what is called the Holy Trinity - bell pepper, onion, and celery. Not to many dishes of food I ate that didn't have all 3 of those in it. They can make a good start for any food.

Re: Mmmmmmmmm
I was meaning to ask you, "Simmered in bourbon"...what the hell does that mean.
Bourbon and butter? Bourbon and vegetable oil? Bourbon and BOURBON? Oh wait, I guess I am thinking of sauteeing. I guess you could simmer in Bourbon. It'd be DANGEROUS, but possible, lol. |

Re: Mmmmmmmmm
Not dangerous at all ... Ya' just pour it in
I Saute in butter & Bourbon all the time, I simmer stuff with bourbon in it, I mix it in batter ... Done it for years, No problems

Re: Mmmmmmmmm
I am not good at it. If I drink say a rum and coke, then I am still thirsty, I have
to rinse out the glass before I will put plain coke and ice in it. I drink Wild Turkey all the time, but the thought of encountering it in food makes me shudder like the first sip of a fresh Wild Turkey on the rocks. I used to laugh at my sister, cause EVERYTHING had something in it one Thanksgiving, Maybe not the turkey itself, but every side dish had some liquor or liqueur in it. She has since gotten off that kick. I think I could take it in batter, though. |
