Bring the pain!

Bittersweet day today
I got home from school to a hot meal courtesy of the wife, and a smile on my face because I finished finals for the quarter. I enjoyed a nice after dinner snack...
But found out that one of my groomsmen from my wedding is terminally ill with cancer. He's 29, and been married for less than one year. Why does it seem good news is always trumped by bad? What a day. Just venting.

Sorry to hear that. Lost one of my groomsmen two years after my first wedding at 36 years of age due to a bad heart valve. We need to appreciate the time we have and the people we have to share that time with.

Congrats finishing your finals and i'll be praying for your friend. I also found this program long time ago and its one of the first things i install in a computer.
http://folding.stanford.edu/ Its called folding at home. It takes a very small amount of cpu power from your computer. Basically it uses that cpu power towards researching cures for a lot of diseases including many cancers. |

Re: Bittersweet day today
Thanks for the thoughts and kind words guys. I'm not typically the type of person to post something like that, I just needed to vent.
On a sadder note, I just got the phone call that we all didn't want to get. 29 years old. See ya around buddy.

Re: Bittersweet day today
Such horrible news. You just can't script life. A friend of mine recently passed at young age due to cancer. He was on top of the world with a nice wife, half million dollar salary, good life... Did not mean much in the end.
Thank your lucky stars every day you can breathe, have friends and loved ones in your life.
