A sad day for baseball indeed.

You can never have too many cigars, they are like an investment in good times.

I was very greatful to be able to meet him at the Detroit Press Club and watch him announce at Briggs Staduim when I tagged along with my Dad who worked for a TV station no other word to describe him other than as an Exceptional Genetleman
RIP in the Feild Of Dreams Ernie

I said a prayer for his wife Lulu and the rest of his family. He truly was a legend. Anyone who heard him call a baseball game will never forget his voice. From what I've heard in an interview with Ernie, he was not shy about his faith. May God welcome him into heaven with open arms. We will miss you Ernie!
