Thanks, the woods are a real motivator. It'll be weeks before I can do anything with it but it sure makes me want to push on to get to the project. I think I'm going to do it in a James Krenov style. He was known for accenting the woods figure with simple yet elegant style. A true master.

Man those are some amazing pieces. How thick are they?
Are you thinking of making a humidor with full pieces on 4 sides? How would you best use it? I could see it as an amazing top or front and sides of a large floor cabinet, or heck, just frame them and put em on the wall! |

I just looked up Krenov and his pieces are amazing. I like how on most cabinets he'd put the handles or nobs in places depending on how it looked with the wood, he just wouldn't put the nob in the same place on every drawer or cabinet door, a simple but brilliant craftsman.
Something like the image below would be amazing with that maple! ![]() |
