Re: In your opinion which NC is closest to a CC?
Cigars are no different than foods or beverages.
The taste is acquired via our sense of smell and taste. That sense varies from individual to individual. Some have certain flavor sensors more developed or more acute than others. That said, there is a wide array of foods, beverages and vices such as cigars that pass through our senses and in turn are interpreted. For determining what can be labeled as what when it comes to these senses, what the masses perceive is probably the best barometer rather than what one or two or a few perceive. So...............if the masses taste CC's and find them nothing like NC's, that doesn't make the few dissenters wrong. It just means their senses are different in this regard to this flavor being picked up. Can some be fooled by NCs and think they are CC's? Sure, why not? Some of the NC's I have had lately are amazing. However, to me, they are still different. Can all be fooled? I say no way. So, whoever found a Cazadores to taste like a NC, that is their taste sensing profile speaking. The masses seem to disagree and perhaps that is the best barometer. Either way, doesn't make either side wrong. BTW, They are probably all made out of the same tobacco anyway as 90-95% are fake anyhow. That is why those Cazadores, Mag 50 and Mag 48 all taste like NC's.

I'm telling you, that's the only CC that tastes EXACTLY LIKE a Nic Puro, a la Pepin. Must be the foil fermentation that does it.

I don't agree with Wayne on the Mag 50s (haven't smoked a 48 yet... still waiting for them to dry out a little)...
Long time ago, Wayne sent me a RyJ Cazadores that I smoked in a Blind Taste Test. Usually my palate is pretty well balanced, but I would have bet the farm that it was an NC. I've also passed a Tat Cazadores with a RyJ Cazadores at the same time. Several people thought they were the same cigar.
