Alright, sounds cool. Should I just come right out and say "You don't mind, do you?" Before I light up?

I actually prefer the "Would you like one" and if they say "No" I just light up.

If I use your approach and they say "Yes I mind" they will be very upset that I continue to light up anyways

I'm sure you have common sense..just use it.

Hell no... Not to be an arse, but I generally light up before the first tee so if anyone has a problem, they can ride in the other cart. If you're walking, I definitely wouldn't ask. Cigar smoking on the golf course has never been an issue (unless you play public courses in CA, from what I've read even M.J. can't light up). Good luck, just use your common sense and have fun.

You worry too much about offending people...keep in mind someone will always find a reason to get offended if they try.
