That sucks. I just finished up a vinyl window swap last year. Most of the siding had to be replaced also....
What kind of siding is on the house? Do you have wood windows now? Or is this a "new construction" window swap. Single hung, double hung, LowE? Just curious. I'd probably go with the window that your trusted contractor says is best. He probably sees all brands, however there are multiple grades within any brand.

Alright, I held off replying to this thread till I asked my brother who is a windows expert. He has easily put in over 5,000 windows. He said he would recommend PGT vinyl windows. While Pella and Anderson are both good, he loved the way PGT windows fit. However he wasn't sure if you can get them where you live. If not, the next best he said was Pella.
