From a neighbour north of the border who supports all the troops out there doing what they do for us I give you my condolences.

Hits home a little closer when it is someone that we have touched.

I will raise a glass and toast some leaf in his honour tonight.

May they all be as safe as they can be.

I feel for the families of the fallen, as an ex-service man myself who saw combat in the Falklands and the 1st Gulf Conflict as well as other active duty roles, my head and heart goes out them all. I have a brother out there in Afghan at the moment and a front line Officer. British Officers in this day and age lead from the front, by example.
