I can't think of a better place to ask this question than on this thread.. you guys are definite fans!
I am a noob and haven't yet lit up a Pepin. I am in the mild-medium range and enjoy a nice profile and smooth finish. Which Pepin would you recommend I try first? thanks, Mike |

San Cristobal (the original I haven't had the del sol and don't know how they differ) Mi Barrio (a little spicy at the beginning but pairs well with a beer to put it in that medium range) 601 Green (one of my all time faverites, more medium to full but if you have had a meal before you should be fine) I am sure there are more those are just the ones that spring to mind right away. ![]() |

And thanks for all the recommendations already. I will be stopping at the local B&M tonight and will pick up a couple. I will let you know how it goes. Mike |

Well I had the San Cristobal last night and I must say I enjoyed it. Especially the middle third. Seemed very earthy to me. It actually went out on me as I made may way into the final third. This may be due to the fact that temperatures dropped like a rock last night. When I got home it was in the upper 20's. By the time I got done with dinner, etc. and got to the garage, it was 1 1/2 hour later, and by the time I finished it was 13 degrees out! Luckily no wind. Keeping it lit for the last third was a chore and I believe I over-puffed it and got it too hot and I started to get some hay tastes and biting on the back of tongue. I will certainly give it another try when things warm up.

Pepin and Miranda are teaming up for another smoke, the Nestor Miranda Collection Dominicano. Nic filler and binder with a Dominican wrapper. The wrapper is being grown on the same farm the wrappers for LA's 100 Aņos were grown.
