If he is a newbie, and just starting out he is probably testing the waters, and why spend $30 on something if $5 can get you the same results? @ danreeve- to address your original question, I personally would not use eBay beads to store my cigars. I have used both Heartfelt and Shilala beads. I find that Shilala beads work better for ME, and they require less maintenance (no maintenance actually) than the Heartfelt beads. Both producers are members here, but you'll see Scott (Shilala) is more active.
