So I'm going to be home in a couple weeks here, and able to drink scotch and rum and all that good stuff again, and I was wondering what some suggestions to sweeter/less peaty scotches would be to really get myself into the hobby...I think my wallet is not going to be too happy with it though... But I'm open to suggestions, so have at it, I'd like them to be fairly affordable, nothing over probably $75...

Those are good choices and should fit within your budget.
You may also want to check out Glenfarclas (The 105 was quite nice), and Ilse of Jura Superstition (I found this pretty sweet but I can't remember what the regular bottling is like). |
