Oliva Series V Maduro

I have 4 in the humi right now, might have to wait till after the winter to light though, it's getting cold in these parts.

The Serie V hasn't been doing it for me lately for some reason. All I get is pepper, but no other flavors. I can't even smoke them. When I first started smoking them, I remember a distinct flavor that I liked - it was a strange sweetness; I remember it well. But lately I can't find it...

Maybe I need to try a maduro now.

This definitely had a creamy sweetness to it. As for the regular V's, I definitely got the spicy flavor, but I get some sweetness. Sort of like the ashton vsgs. I know I have had some sungrowns that were so spicy I couldn't stand it, most frequently the Fuente Chateau Sun growns. Maybe it just happens sometimes with sungrowns.

Yea it is cold here in NEPA as well, thankfully my dad has a garage that somewhat retains heat until it gets dark out. I am seeing my larger cigars starting to get a reprieve until the spring or I go to a b&m or lounge.

I have to agree with you that the V seems to be too fresh. The one I smoked tasted great, but it turned bitter and sour in the last inch of the smoke. I think I will try them again in a few months.

I have to agree here. I just had my first and it was harsh and the burn was aweful. I love the V's so I'm going to hunt a few more of these down to age a bit and try again.

I have had a couple V Maduros and they were awesome. The one I had last night was not good at all. I am going to let them sit a while.

In a year or so, these should smoke awesome. Not much going with them now, still too young in my opinion. Tons of potential-should be another Oliva classic.

Beautiful cigar. Got to pick up a box and a couple of singles while I was in Scottsdale, Arizona last week. Tried a regular serie V torpedo and then the maduro v torpedo and thought that the maduro v had more flavour.

Would recommend picking up some if you can. I know that Hiland's cigars in Scottdale has a couple of boxes left as well as a couple boxes of 2008 holiday samplers and anejos from fuente. might be all gone now but, worth a try.
