Default WOAM, hard to find?

I laughed when one of my local B&Ms put out a box and priced them at 19.95 a single. there reason was because there pretty hard to find. that being said a went a mile down the road to a cheap tobacco store and seen a full box priced at retail.

Are these sticks actually that hard to find to merit twice the retail price?

Rich...they seem to be "drying up" and harder to find. But definetly not worth $20 a stick.

I jumped over to Holts, which may or may not be the best price, but it is the only place I looked.

WOAMs can be hard to find, but they're definitely not worth 2x. It's just an example of merchant gouging. I refuse to support B&Ms like that.

I found a couple at my local B&M and he was selling them for around $10... No way I would pay anymore than $12 for them.

WOAM is a maduro wrapper released in very limited quatities. The standard Work of Art is a cameroon wrapper and available year round. The WOAM, like Anejo's are usually released once or twice a year.

Doh! You are right, of course, Bob. I was pointing to the WOAs not WOAMs.

$8-9 is also a WOA price. Its been a few years, but I believe WOAM's retail for somewhere around $12-14. Tampasweethearts can email you a list of hard to find Fuente's and their current retail prices.

$10-ish is about right for these. They are getting a bit easier to find lately (at least at my place). As I understand it, these are regular production sticks now. I have received 6 boxes in the last several months from Fuente. They don't always have them in stock, but when they do, I can usually get them.

Fuente apparently lost a LOT of wrapper crop from the hurricanes last year. As I understand it, they won't even know for at least a year if the lands are fertile and balanced enough to grow tobacco or if they're still unsuitable to farm due to salt intrusion from the hurricanes.

Or so I was told at the IPCPR show.

They're about $9 in Philly, with sales tax and all.

Last year there were a lot in stock even after the
Xmas holidays, and into spring. I think the economy
tanked cigar sales last year.

Not sure of the current supply.

A very good smoke, but not worth double.

About $12 here in Missouri with tax included, my B&M almost always has them and if I buy a box he will give 10% off. I have some 4-5yo ones that are great and last Fathers Day release were tasty also.
