Tim,

Go to Home Cheapo and rent an orbital sander and do the floors yourself. I did all the floors in my first house myself. You shouldn't have much of a problem as that wood appears to be in pretty good shape. Give it a try, the wife will love you more! By the way, it was electrical but not the kitchen. One of the firemen that was airlifted to the hospital during the fire came by tonight with his son to trick or treat. Our wives were both pregnant at the time of the fire. I'm glad we are all still here.

I woulda done the floors myself, but I have to travel next week and gotta be done with the floors and the bathroom in 3 weeks.... so I hired the floors out. Only $1500 for the whole thing, not bad.

Glad to hear the firefighter is OK and it is really cool that he came by tonight!
