Different DPG Blue Bands?

Can't say it is fact but I have heard from pretty reliable sources that the wrapper is different and the change was made around the same time as the bands. If I remember right which these days I have the memory of a 90 year old but I believe the original wrappers were being grown by someone else (I believe it was Oliva) but now the wrappers are being grown by him. Again, do not take this as gospel as this is just what I have been told. I have some of the older and newer Blues and can't taste much of a difference but I am also not known to pick out hints of Madagascar either.

I asked Pepin's right hand man (the guy who goes around with Pepin to his rolling events) about the label change and he said nothing changed but the band. It's the same exact cigar, just an updated band. I also asked about the screw up with the classic bands when the printer made them pinkish instead of red in color. He explained to me how big of a mess up that was and how they just used them instead of paying for more. You could tell he did not like that it had happened.
