Take a shallow white bowl and put some water, a couple drops of dishwashing liquid, and a little vinegar in it. They will die in there quickly. Replace this mixture everyday. Make up a few of them for better results. Put one near your TV and lamps/lights. They are attracted to the light and electromagnetic field (I heard it on a bug killing show). No matter what we do we get fruit flies every summer. I hate them.

I just made a trap similar to Skywalker's for large flies last week. My landlady has
a couple of dogs, and recently got another one as an inside threat neutralizer. Problem is she sheds, so now there are 3 dogs out back and all they DO is $hit. So the flies have been getting out of hand. I took some wet dog food and a piece of dog poo and built a very similar fly trap and got a few, but there are too many alternative piles for them to infest. I got a FEW though. But inside, that trap should REALLY work well. That concept also works well with minnows in a stream, and with mammals in a much larger form. The old funnel trick. |
