Hygrometer Question

So just got my new and first humidor in today. On the front its got a spot cut out to put the analog hygrometer. On the back of the hygrometer is a magnet do I keep the magnet on? Probably sound dumb but if the magnet is on it is blocking the whole so how can it read the humidity levels? Thanks in advance.

Oh and I know I should have a digital. That will come soon.

You can do a salt test to calibrate your hygrometer.

You can take the magnet off. Just save it in case you want to mount your digital or a humidifier on the lid.
