I grew up in the age of the greats in television news - Edward R. Morrow, Chet Huntley and David Brinkley, and Walter Cronkite. The last of them are gone, and may never be replaced. Rest in peace, old warrior.

Some of my earliest memories are of watching the network news with my Dad (a social-studies teacher for 30+ years), and seeing the Huntely-Brinkley Report, Mr Morrow and the great Walter Cronkite. My dad would explain some of the finer points of the stories, such as the Korean and Vietnam wars. I also remember Mr. Cronkite's reporting of the JFK assasination and the Moon landing.
